Reserving Your Newborn Session

The best time to schedule your newborn session is after 4 days and  before 2 weeks of your baby’s life when your baby is most likely to be peacefully sleeping and naturally curled for those heartwarming photos. We know life with a newborn can be unpredictable, so if your little one arrives early or you need extra time, we’re happy to adapt. For slightly older newborns, our in-home sessions focus on capturing the everyday beauty of your family’s interactions.

To provide each family with the attention they deserve, we accept a limited number of newborn bookings each month. Sessions are typically held on weekday mornings, as this is when babies tend to be the most serene. If your partner needs to join during a lunch break or if you require a weekend session, just let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.

What to Wear

Selecting the right attire is essential for capturing timeless and beautiful portraits. For newborns, less is often more—showcasing their natural beauty with minimal clothing, such as bare skin or soft wraps. We provide a range of accessories including blankets, wraps, bonnets, and headbands. If you’re looking for something specific, Etsy.com has an array of delightful newborn photography props.

For parents, we recommend outfits that emphasize the intimate connection with your newborn. Moms might choose a lace camisole or strapless dress, while dads could wear a bare chest or a fitted button-down shirt. Opt for simple, classic clothing in neutral or pastel tones to achieve a soft, cohesive look.

Studio or In-home?

We offer fine art newborn portraits both in our studio and in the comfort of your home. Our studio provides a controlled environment with optimal lighting and temperature, perfect for capturing those beautifully posed newborn shots. During a Studio Portrait Session, we focus on creating classic posed images, while also happily including a few family portraits.

For a more versatile experience, consider our Signature Portrait Session. This option combines the traditional studio poses with lifestyle photography that features your baby in the meaningful spaces of your home, such as the nursery. We’ll bring all necessary equipment, including portable lighting and accessories, to set up a mini studio at your location, ensuring you get both posed and natural, intimate portraits.

Session Duration

Our newborn photography sessions usually take around two hours. This timeframe ensures we have ample opportunity for feeding, comforting, and cherishing special bonding moments. We focus on creating a serene and cozy environment, prioritizing your baby’s comfort and safety above all. Our careful and patient approach allows us to refine each pose, ensuring we capture those tender, fleeting moments that turn into cherished and meaningful portraits.
